The one thing I love about Cris is that he is always planning and finding our next adventure. One of these past weekends, we drove to Sands Point Long Island to the Historic Sands Point Preserve. We got to take a tour of the Falaise Mansion, which is one of the last standing mansions on the Gold Coast of Long Island. This mansion was built but Harry Guggenheim and his wife in 1923, and is furnished with antiques from the 16th and 17th century and has the most amazing medieval-esque library. You were not allowed to take photos inside, but I tried to capture the essence of the house from the exterior as best I could! If you live in NYC, this is great little escape since there are hiking trails, beaches, gardens, and mansions to explore, and it is only 45 minutes from Manhattan!
