BEC is a funky little breakfast joint in Chelsea on 8th Ave. When my friend Corinne told me about this place, I knew I had to try it since breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. When I got there on Saturday morning, it was not too crowded and I was able to order my BEC classic right away with a Brooklyn cold brew coffee. The sandwich was delicious, the bacon was crispy, the eggs were runny, and the cheese crusted brioche bun was a nice touch. It was just what I needed to fuel my walk home. Next time I will have to try one of their more elaborate sandwiches, like The Farmhouse, which includes crispy pancetta, ricotta, honey, baby spinach and fig jam on a toasted roll. BEC is also open late and serves beer and wine, so you can have breakfast for every meal if you so choose!
