I buy a lot of beauty products over the course of a year, and I love to mix different ones together to get different textures and effects. Here are a few of my favorite mix ups that I have incorporated into my beauty routine to achieve a moisturized and clean complexion.
I got L'Oreal Silky Sheer BB Face Lotion at TJ Maxx for three dollars. It was the best three dollars I have ever spent (so keep a look out!), because I use it every day. Although this creme works well on its own, I mix it with my daily Olay Complete Moisturizer. The BB creme thins out the moisturizer, which makes them both blend smoothly when applying to my skin. This mixture is perfect, since it primes my skin before I continue the rest of my morning makeup routine.
Next up, I use Korres Pomegranate Mattifying Primer mixed with Botanics Radiance Balm. Mixing these two products together ensures that my complexion will stay bright, and my makeup will not melt off my face during the day. I have always been a fan of Botanics by Boots, the products are affordable and you can buy them at Duane Reade, which is pretty much on every corner in NYC.
Last but not least of my morning routine is my foundation and illuminator mixture. I take a dollop of Clinique Acne Solutions and mix it with a little bit of Becca's Golden Opal Pearl Illuminator. Mixing these two together gives me ample coverage, with a nice dewy finish. After that, I usually just dab some pressed powered on my nose and forehead and call it a day!
This mixture is part of my night time routine. After I cleanse and tone my skin, I mix Bio-Oil with Botanics Hydrating Night Cream. The Bio-Oil breaks up the night cream, creating a nice consistency, and my skin feels extremely nourished afterwards. I love this mixture because it leaves your skin primed and hydrated for the morning.
