Looking for an affordable apartment in NYC is probably one of the most stressful things a person can do. During this time last year, I was commuting to NYC for work by day, and looking at every apartment New York had to offer by night. I had luckily found a roommate online (it can happen!) who had the same price range, location preference, and Netflix addiction as me. After looking at crappy apartment after crappy apartment in the East Village, we finally hit the jack pot (thanks to Seema). We landed a relatively large two bedroom apartment on the fifth floor...of a walk up. We figured that was why the place was so cheap, but we seized the day and figured our butts and thighs would reap the benefit.
Our bedrooms are not very large, so I wanted to spend some time to make it look nice. Although its been a little over a year since we moved in, I have slowly begun to spend time decorating my walls, a huge departure from the tapestry I had "temporarily" draped on the freshly painted white walls. I have started to create a gallery of photos on one of my walls, but below is an inspiration board of what I would like it to eventually look like! The things I am still looking into adding are more shelving units, gold curtain rods, succulent shelves, large photographs and a mirror. Will post more photos as it comes together!
