I was never a huge fan of foundation. I always found it to be very cakey and unflattering, (flashback to my Cover Girl liquid makeup obsession in 7th grade...eek!). Since then, I have always stuck to loose or compact powder, in hopes to create a more natural look. However, there are some fantastic, lighter foundation options out there that I have recently taken a liking to. I have posted my top three favorite foundations that are great for achieving that light, dewy look without looking like you caked on your makeup.
This is #1 on my list, mainly because I am an avid user of any and all Clinique products. Clinique Acne Solutions ($27.00) is a great lightweight foundation, moisturizer, and acne fighter, all in one. I also find that the color, even if it's tad lighter than your skin post vacation, still manages to blend in quite nicely, adapting to your natural skin tones.
#2 on my list is a foundation that I read about in almost all of the beauty magazines. They had a really great article on serum foundation and its benefits for your skin. They make these in various bronzers, blushes and of course, foundations. After testing out Bare Minerals BARESKIN ($29.00) at Sephora, I knew I had to buy a bottle. This liquid serum gives extremely light coverage while brightening your complexion. The serum-like quality also lets your achieve that "dewy" look with no effort!
Last but not least on my list is Benefits Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow foundation ($36.00). I am a huge fan of Benefit products so naturally, I had to try out their signature foundation makeup. This foundation is extremely hydrating, containing vitamins C and E. Having very fair skin myself, this is one foundation that didn't leave pink undertones after I had applied.
